Cough: The recommended adult dose of codeine as a cough suppressant is 15 mg to 30 mg every 6 to 8 hours needed, up to a maximum of 120 mg daily. This medication may be habit-forming if taken for long periods of time. Do not stop taking this medication without talking with your doctor. It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
